The Prisoner

Number 6 is number 1!

Although I wasn’t alive in the 1960′s (I swear!) I am heavily influenced by the decade. One of my television favorites is The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan. His death yesterday reminded me how much I love the aesthetic of that era. The bright poppy colors and the futuristic sets made a great backdrop for his uniform black blazer with the occasional white piping. Not to mention the constant manhunt by a giant swedish ball and his statement of independence, ”I am not a Number! I am a free man!”. Also prepare for the AMC remake for the 21st century with Sir Ian McKellan as Number 2 and Jim Caviezel as the irrepressible Number 6, due out in late 2009. Just don’t expect the snappy outfits.
