Dr. Fish
Delicious! Or disgusting? I haven't decided.
I was very kindly offered a free Pedicure from a local salon (which I declined as I am still growing out the weird toenails I got from a summer of pedicures) and someone asked me if it was the “fish pedicure”. Say what? Yes. That’s what I said. Fish pedicure. Happy little carp that want nothing more than to eat the dead skin off your feet. The last thing I want its to feel like a hippo being helped by my little Oxpecker friends but it is a similar kind of mutualistic relationship. The fish have been used in Turkey and Asia and are being popularized in the states, although Washington state has banned it as being unsanitary. Conversely, is it really any good for the fish? What kind of nutrients are in feet? It must be pretty cost effective what with all the free food they are getting. Now, if they can only teach them how to paint those little flowers on.
